Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu Announces Provisional Selection Lists for Various Posts
The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu has released a notification, dated January 9, 2024, bearing the number 17 (Secy.), pertaining to the provisional selection lists of candidates for various posts. The positions include Peon, Orderly, Chowkidar, Laboratory Attendant, Library Attendant, OCC, Mali, Gardner, and equivalents. Additionally, there is one post for Animal Attendant. These vacancies were advertised through notifications number 10 (Secy.) of 2022 dated July 20, 2022, and 09 (Secy.) of 2022 dated July 6, 2022.
The selection process was comprehensive, involving an OMR based Objective type Written Test Examination held on December 4, 2022. Candidates’ performance in the exam, coupled with additional weightage points awarded by a designated committee, played a crucial role in the selection process. The subsequent verification of documents and ascertainment of eligibility were carried out by the Selection-cum-Document Verification Committee, with the final approval from the Competent Authority.
The provisional selection lists for the fifty posts of Peon, Orderly, Chowkidar, Laboratory Attendant, Library Attendant, OCC, Mali, Gardner, and equivalents, along with the one post of Animal Attendant, are enclosed as Annexure ‘I’ and ‘II’ in the notification. However, it is important to note that the provisional selection lists are subject to certain conditions.
Firstly, the outcome of any writ petition(s) or application(s) pending adjudication before any competent court of law will influence the finalization of the selection list. Additionally, any pending inquiries involving candidates listed in the provisional selection list may impact the outcome.
The provisional nature of the selection list emphasizes that it is subject to change based on objections received. The University encourages candidates to raise objections, and any necessary adjustments will be made accordingly. Importantly, the provisional selection list does not confer an absolute right for final selection. The University will notify the final selection after considering objections and ensuring a merit-based approach.
Furthermore, the University reserves the right to make corrections or changes in the provisional selection list at any later date, as deemed necessary. This underscores the commitment to a fair and transparent selection process, ensuring that the final list reflects the most qualified and deserving candidates for the respective positions.
