NEET 2024 Preparation Tips for Two Months

In this section, we bring to you eight tips on NEET 2024 preparation tips in the last two months for the test. These tips are aimed to give you a broad idea to plan or modify the existing preparation strategy for the days left for NEET 2024 exam.

How to Prepare for NEET 2024 in Two Months? Manage your weakness

You must have identified your strengths and weaknesses by now. It is high time that you manage your weak areas. By managing weak areas, we mean that this is the time when you have to take a decision on whether you will opt out of these topics completely or if there is still a chance to improve in these areas. You have to analyse each of the weak areas or topics vis-a-vis the weightages carried in the NEET exam to take a final decision. You still have time to prepare for those topics which carry a high weightage in the exam.

On the other hand, for those topics which do not hold a high weightage or you are unable to fathom the concepts despite multiple trials, it is best to leave those topics out and focus on the other areas. Talking about managing weaknesses, Anurag Tiwari, National Academic Director (Medical), Aakash Institute says, “This is the time to figure out your weaker areas and strengthen such topics and chapters. The best way to know the weaker areas is to do a post-test error analysis thoroughly which will be a real reflection of one’s mistakes and help them to put some remedial actions around those.”

Preparing for NEET 2024 in Two Months: Brush up your strengths

While managing your weak areas of NEET, you must not be overconfident of your strength areas and stop preparing as this would make you lose touch. You must pay due attention to your strong sections as well and do regular revision and practice of those. “Strong areas can be re-strengthen by practising as many questions as possible,” states Tiwari.

NEET 2024 Preparation Strategy for Last 2 Months: Set Daily Targets

Assuming that you have completed the NEET 2024 syllabus two months before the exam, you must focus on topical preparation for NEET 2024. In the last two months before the test, it is advised that you set daily targets in terms of topics and complete its revision or concept building followed by practice.

While sharing his NEET preparation strategy, Tanmay Gupta, AIR 1 in NEET 2021 said, “My strategy was to be consistent and clear with concepts so that there is no ambiguity in terms of conceptual understanding. I used to set daily targets. I used to target the chapters I intended to complete in a day within a prefixed time limit, followed by practice.”

Key for NEET 2024 Preparation in Two Months: Take mock tests

With the two months left for NEET 2024 exam, candidates already know the importance of NEET mock tests. Candidates would have already started taking sectional or full-length NEET mock tests. Where there are less than two months left for the exam, you must focus on increasing the frequency of taking full-length NEET mock tests to twice or thrice a week followed by in-depth analysis by experts. Candidates can easily find free NEET mock tests as well as NEET mock tests by coaching centres available online.

It helps in analysing the real-time performance of the aspirants which is very beneficial in highlighting their mistakes which can be avoided on the exam day.”

Two Month NEET Preparation Plan Requires Time Management

Time is a crucial factor in a highly competitive entrance exam like NEET which will be taken by around 18 lakh candidates. Last year onwards, the total duration in the NEET exam pattern was increased by 20 minutes, making the total duration to be 200 minutes. Hence, the time management factor comes in not just for completing the test on time, but for choosing the questions as well, since candidates will have to attempt 180 out of 200 questions. You must not be too complacent about the extra 20 minutes and have a plan in advance on how to best utilise the extra 20 minutes and attempt a maximum number of questions to ensure a high score.

How to Prepare for NEET 2024 in 2 Months? Revise What’s Done

There is no substitute for revision. Irrespective of how confident you are with your NEET preparation, you should not stop revising even for a day. The revision will serve the dual purpose of preparing for the weak areas as well as brushing up on the strong areas. Talking about the significance of revision, Kumar states, “The most significant component in determining performance when the clock is ticking is revision. Simply review the previously learned subjects and chapters while revising the chapters to ensure that you remember them for longer.”

NEET Preparation 2024 in Last Two Months: Focus on Accuracy

Given the negative marking scheme, accuracy is of the essence. For each wrong answer, there would be a negative marking of one mark. Hence, you must be very careful while selecting the answer to ensure that the answer is correct. Utilise the space for rough work to double-check the answer options. Before making the final entry to the OMR sheet, cross-check and revise each and every answer option to avoid silly mistakes and negative markings deduced by it.

To avoid silly mistakes, it is best to work on the questions and write down the correct answer option separately and fill up the OMR sheet after the final revision. Sharing her exam taking strategy, NEET topper Karthika G Nair said, “I was a little nervous while marking the answer options on the OMR sheet. I did not want to make any mistake in marking the correct answer options after solving the questions correctly. Hence, I noted down the correct answer options separately and filled the OMR sheet very carefully after solving the paper.”

"NEET
